Michael Schachter notes, these conditions are frequently improved by cleaning up children's diets and removing fluoride: "Some of these children are sensitive to fluoride, which may cause headaches, hyperactivity and problems with attention. fluoride is often present in their drinking water and toothpaste. Some children are prescribed fluoride tablets or given fluoride treatments at their dentists' offices or at school. Some of these children are benefited by removing all sources of fluoride. Additionally, vitamin and mineral supplements, such as magnesium, may be quite helpful. |

If the naturally occurring fluoride in green tea were even remotely toxic (like the fluoride added to drinking water), it would not have shown to have such a wide range of preventive and curative effects. The body's immune system would reactively respond to it and become weakened in the process, yet quite the opposite is true. Green tea inhibits cell mutation, stimulates digestion and enhances brain functions. Synthetic fluoride has the exact opposite effects.
The fluoride—or fluorine—that occurs naturally in tea and other foods is so volatile that most of it evaporates in the heating process. |
| The hideous version of fluoride that is added to drinking water in so many parts of the world is the poison we ought to protect ourselves against. "Fluoride, once touted as an osteoporosis treatment, is, in fact, toxic to bone cells," says John R. Lee M.D. Thankfully, the American Dental Association, which has for many years been one of fluoride's biggest advocates, changed course when it alerted its members in 2006 that parents of infants younger than a year old "should consider using water that has no or low levels of fluoride" when mixing baby formula. |

We brush our teeth using plastic toothbrushes generously dappled with one of the most toxic substances known to humankind — sodium fluoride, otherwise known as fluoride. We've been told that fluoride is good for our teeth. Not so. It is a known hazardous, poisonous, toxic waste by-product of the aluminum, phosphate fertilizer and other industries. This has been known for years, but we passively accept the big, fat lie about the benefits of fluoride, pumped into our water supply and mixed into our dental hygiene products. |

It is difficult to state the fluoride content of green tea bags or extracts because of variable fluoride content. Generally, the younger the tea leaves, the less fluoride and the more antioxidant polyphenols it contains. [J Agriculture Food Chemistry 52: 4472-76, 2004]
There are false claims that green tea, by virtue of its vitamin K content (vitamin K is a blood clotting vitamin), may interfere with blood thinners. But the amount of vitamin K in green tea is negligible.
Studies show that green tea inhibits the utilization of vitamin Bl (thiamin). |

| So the sodium fluoride in your cup of tea is of much greater concern than the natural fluoride in the tea itself. Excessive fluoride intake can lead to hyperthyroidism. If you have been diagnosed with this disorder you should consult with a doctor of Ayurveda, Chinese Medicine or an ND (doctor of naturopathic medicine) who is knowledgeable about nutrition and its effects on the body's endocrine glands.

He was being overdosed with fluoride.
He had the classic signs -- most notably the discoloration of the front teeth and the broken bones. Excessive exposure to fluoride will cause both of these effects. Parents have been brainwashed into exposing their children to way too much fluoride by the dental industry, which is so far behind on safety that it still actually promotes putting mercury into the mouths of children and expectant mothers through the use of dental fillings. If you have a child who has been breaking bones too easily, you might want to check out their fluoride intake. |

Fluoride has been found to stimulate bone formation, but the bones become poorly mineralized and brittle. fluoride is also toxic to the rest of the body. Dr. Leo Spiro, who was awarded a degree in recognition for his research on fluoridation by London University, says that fluoride damages brain and nerve cells, is harmful to reproductive organs, affects the thyroid gland, damages the liver, and creates a high incidence of bone fracture. He adds that, "We cannot prophecy what would happen to the organs of the body if it were subjected to constant doses of fluoride for a lifetime. |

The daily dose of fluoride that people are now receiving in fluoridated communities far exceeds the dose of fluoride that was found to depress the thyroid gland. Because of fluoridation, millions of people are now suffering from hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid). This condition is currently one of the more common medical problems in the United States. Today, over 150 symptoms can be identified in hypothyroidism. Almost all correlate with known symptoms of fluoride poisoning. |
| Other animal studies found that fluoride accumulates in the pineal gland and interferes with its production of melatonin, a hormone that helps regulate the onset of puberty, thyroid functions, and numerous other basic physiological processes. In humans, fluoride has been found to cause arthritis, osteoporosis, hip fractures, cancer, infertility, Alzheimer's disease, and brain damage.
Until the 1950s, European doctors used fluoride to treat hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid). |

But to swallow fluoride in order to treat your teeth is a lot like swallowing hair coloring chemicals to change the color of your hair. If you're going to treat the area with the topical treatment, you're not supposed to swallow it. You're supposed to put it in contact with the surface needing treatment.
The whole argument about fluoridating public water supplies brings out, I think, the worst of organized medicine and organized dentistry. |
| To make matters even worse, it's not that municipalities are actually dripping genuine fluoride into the water supplies in the first place -- they're largely using fluorosilicic acid, which, as I've covered before, is actually a toxic waste product produced in the smokestacks of various industrial chemical producers. If they weren't selling this substance to cities, they would have to pay a lot of money to have it handled as an environmental hazard and buried in EPA-approved landfills. |
| And those human beings, of course, eventually pass the fluoride through their bodies and directly into the rivers and streams. Thus, it brings us to this bizarre reality of fluoridation: this environmentally hazardous, toxic substance is illegal to dump into rivers and streams, unless it passes through the bodies of human beings first, in which case it's not only perfectly legal, it's actually demanded by ADA dentists. That's a pretty bizarre situation. (Of course, these are the same people who are still putting mercury into peoples' mouths, so what did you expect? |
| You wouldn't eat lipstick or deodorant or shampoo -- why are you eating fluoride in unmonitored quantities?
Finally, given that drinking fluorosilicic acid helps industrial companies get rid of a toxic waste product, shouldn't you get paid something for helping them dispose of this EPA-regulated substance? If you're going to feed poison to the American public, at least offer to pay them something for it. Right now, cities are being charged for this stuff. Frankly, industrial companies should be paying cities for their help in getting rid of it. |

They think we should mass medicate the entire population with a number of biochemically active drugs, with or without their consent. fluoride could be just the beginning! The public waterways could be a genuine chemical cocktail... that is, if they weren't already.
All this demonstrates how egomaniacal and power-hungry organized dentistry is today. These people want to force drugs into the bodies of people, and they want to do it through a system of subterfuge that drips these drugs slowly into the water supply. |

There were significantly reduced fluoride levels in the blood and serum and increased urinary fluoride levels in the treated group (p=0.05 for all three parameters) but not in the placebo group, indicating increased removal of fluoride from the body. The results of this small study indicate that calcium, ascorbic acid, and vitamin D3 supplementation can reverse fluorosis in children (Gupta et al 1996).

(There's a sad and disturbing history of mass populations being poisoned with things that start with "f-l-u-o-r," by the way. Fluorine gas, anyone?)
I was just thinking if we used the American Dental Association approach of eating everything that's supposed to be a topical treatment, then we could revolutionize the cosmetic industry. Women could eat lipstick to make their lips turn red. People could eat deodorant to stop body odor. |

Chromium
Chromium was named after the Greek word for color (chroma) because of the colorful compounds made from it. The chemical symbol for chromium is Cr. One form of chromium, trivalent chromium, is essential for nutrition. The chemical symbol for trivalent chromium is Cr3"1" (Cr+++). |
